Capitalism Vs. Communism
Throughout most of history, the Soviet Union (Russia) and the United States have never really been on good terms. After World War 2 the Soviet Union and The United States had very different economical ideas to run their country. These differences alone forced the two power hungry nations to become enemies, their economical and political ideas are completely opposite. The United States decided to remain capitalist, while the Soviet Union stuck to communism. Despite their differences, they had a common goal which was to spread their influential, economical ideas. Both countries promoted their own government, which created tension between the two nations. The United States and its allies, all wanted to stop the spread of communism and isolate them. This lead to the division of Germany, due to the different political and economical ideas. In 1945, the Western Allies split Germany with the Soviet Union, west Germany was capitalist, while east Germany was communist. Due to the capital of Germany; Berlin, being in East Germany, they decided to split it just like Germany. West Berlin was capitalist, while East Berlin was communist, the separation was forced by creating the Berlin Wall. At this time the Western Allies decided to United Nation, which was designed from the start to prevent wars. President Truman decided that sending money and aid would prevent troubling countries from turning to communism, which will allow capitalism to continue to strive. The Cold War is the competition not only between The Soviet Union and The United States, but between communism and capitalism. The Cold War changed the world at this time, and to this day the effect of the Cold War are still being felt today. The Cold War made every country besides The United States and The Soviet Union choose a side, and the side ultimately decided who was your ally and who was your enemy. The Cold War was a game changer in our world, this one war made every country, every person, decide who they would follow, and ultimately who they were out to demolish. In the end, the Cold War separated our world, one side being capitalism, and the other side being communism.
